I Need Prayer and Advice

I have a prayer request. Eden has been crying in her sleep for the past several weeks. She has made such progress attaching over the last month, but the nights have gotten worse. She cries, pretty deeply and with real tears, several times a night without waking up (most of the time). I read about "night terrors" before we went to China but this isn't what I expected. I guess I thought night terrors would be more severe so I'm not sure what this is. I'm going to contact the Adoption Clinic to see what they think. Please pray for Eden. I feel strongly that this isn't just "normal" toddler nightmares or fussiness but I don't know what it is. It's weird because sometimes her eyes are open but she isn't awake. If anyone has gone through this with their adopted children, your wisdom would be a blessing! Aren't you so grateful that our God knows exactly what is going on with our children when we don't? Thanks!

Kerri,
Sadie has had a few nights where she would be crying and flinging her arms in her sleep...but she has only had a few of them...nothing terrible. They occured on days when there was a lot of activity or a lot of things that were out of our "normal" routine. She has pretty much quit doing that now....but she did have those kind of nights. Even Sophie used to do that when she was little. Actually, Sophie's were a lot more scarry than Sadie. Sophie would be awake (or her eyes open) and everything...and would just be freaking out. She only did it a few times though. So...I think you contacting the clinic would be the best thing. I'm sure they can give you an educated answer. A lot of the families I have talked to though, have had similar experiences with their little ones! Hang in there! We're praying for you!

Hey Keri!
I just talked to Leigh Anne from the clinic today about some issues Kimmie is having. Nothing to do with sleep, but attachment stuff. She is so encouraging and we are all so blessed to have this clinic right here! Call tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They will be able to affirm and encourage you with practical advice.
I will be praying for sweet little Eden!
All of my bio children have gone through waking up spells, but would always go back to sleep when comforted. But they woke up A LOT when they would go through those spells, and the spells would last about a month at a time. It was hard, I remember.
But I'm so thankful Eden is attaching so great and healthy!
Praise God!
Love you,
Laine

Hi Keri,
Anna Kate has done the exact same thing for the past 6-8 months, but it only occurs about once a month now. She also has her eyes open and the first few times it happened I thought she was awake and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. We have to wake her up for it to stop, we've walked outside or given her something to drink and as soon as she wakes up from it, she's fine and goes back to sleep. Let me know what advice the adoption clinic has. I'll be praying for your family.
